Best Band in Maine: Hilton Park

Yep, that’s right! At the 2015 New England Music Awards on April 18th, Hilton Park was voted “Best in State: Maine”. A deserving band, recognized for their recent success with their 2nd album “Strings” released in December 2014, they caught the eyes and ears of many.

From Berwick, ME, Hilton Park is comprised of father/son combo Bruce, and Conor Hilton and the immensely skilled Gregg Pannier. Together they’ve created an impressive collection of original tunes, all in the genre’s of Americana, Folk, Blues, Rock.

It may seem like a lot of genre’s to have your feet in, but this trio does it flawlessly. They meld the plucky twang of the Blues, the moody ballads of Rock and the lyrical poetry of Folk music. Think Crosby, Stills and Nash.

Though coveted for their great music and electric charge during stage performances, the true gem of this band of merry men is how perfectly they manage to blend their voices together. A band with such tight vocal harmonies is a rare find. They immediately reminded me of The Roches, who, in my opinion, rock the world of harmonies.

These guys know what their doing, and they have fun doing it. They return back to Maine on Saturday May 9th where they’ll be playing at Ebenezer’s Brewpub in Brunswick, ME @ 8PM. Check them out. After all, they are the best band in Maine.
